Have you ever made a card that just didn’t fit into a regular size envelope? Well, I made a template that you can adjust either smaller or larger to make your own envelopes. I generally make all my cards a standard 5”x8” size and the instructions I provide below will work for those, but you can adjust the template to whatever size of card you are using.
Lay one piece of 12”x12” card stock onto a cutting mat. Mark the bottom of the paper on the left side where the 1” line and 3” line meet on the scoring mat. Then on the right side mark the paper at the 8 ½” line and 1” line.
Mark the top of the paper on the left side at the 10” line and 3” line. Then on the right side mark the paper at the 10” line and the 8 ½” line. Draw a slight arch on the top of the paper from the 3” and 8 ½” lines. I just lightly mark the areas I’m going to cut. Cut out the tabs on the top and bottom.
Score with the bone folder on the sides, top and bottom, this makes folding the edges over easier. For demonstration purposes only I outlined where you use the bone folder to score. Use Terrifically Tacky ¼” tape on the bottom, top and right side of card stock. When you are ready to fold the right edge over remove the plastic film from the tape. Fold over the side and then remove the film from the bottom and fold flap up.
When you are ready to insert card remove top tape film and seal card.
